Riders in Cycle Folsom's Peloton and Performance Groups fit into a pretty broad spectrum of categories, including: Intro-level Cyclists, Dedicated Cycling Enthusiasts, Avid Cyclists, and some even qualify as Amateur Racers.
Our weekend rides are intended to improve or maintain our fitness and, over time, improve our riding capabilities. The primary focus of those who ride with Cycle Folsom, regardless of current ability, is usually to become a stronger, more-fit cyclist---and to encourage and inspire others to do the same.
Rides very rarely include stops for coffee or meals, just short breaks for water and nutrition. Nevertheless, friendships develop based on a shared need to inspire and challenge one another. Impromptu get-togethers over beer and pizza and/or BBQ happen occasionally as well.
We try to accommodate and encourage those who are new to the group, provided that they are working to improve and/or maintain their performance through a commitment to training.
